A Thousand Proud
These faces and places
They rearrange
It's not so strange
To play the games that we play

But some things they always stay
Buried as deep as they are

Can I continue
On this avenue
This shaded street
Move my feet to the beat

The steady rhythm
That constantly flows in my head

Step into my head
Instead
Of asking for more reasons
I hope that you can finally see them

I see them in you
Even if you refuse
To take a look
And the ground I stand on
It's some solid ground to land on

Any day you can step on to an airplane
Wave your goodbyes and travel so far away
And fly over the oceans and to another rock
Where people don't seem the same

But if you pause for a moment
You'll realize that they've had joy on their lips
And pain in their eyes
And you're not so from home

Come on home
I'm tired of being alone
It's a great big world to wander
Dance around and play my songs for

A thousand proud
This lovely crowd
But it's nothing if I can't share it
My hearts open where I where it

are you
my saving grace
and if that is
the case

I'd be broken with out a part of you
It's just this thing I always do
I've dug my hole and filled it to
Come on home
I'm tired of being alone
It's a great big world to wander
Dance around and play my songs for

A thousand proud
A lovely crowd
But it's nothing if I can't share it
My hearts open where I where it

Faces and places
They rearrange
Its not so strange
To play the games that we play

But there's some things that always stay
Buried as deep as they are
